American Pops Orchestra, Fall 2017 Administrative Internship

Founded in 2015 by rising Pops star Luke Frazier, the American Pops Orchestra presents innovative orchestral programming featuring groundbreaking concepts and artistic partnerships to develop and inspire a new audience for the 21st century. The American Pops Orchestra, now in their third year of orchestral pops programming, is seeking an Arts Administrative Intern to work closely with the Associate Producer, Program Associate and Artistic Director in support of the orchestra’s needs. This internship begins August 28 and concludes on or about December 8, 2016. Candidates must spend time in our Washington, DC offices. Must be present on weekend or evenings for performances.

Responsibilities:

● Assist with general office management duties and research as needed

● Assist with fundraising including letter drafting, donor follow ups, and donor research

● Assist with production needs on show days

● Assist with maintaining orchestra schedule

● Assist with booking artist travel, hotel and hospitality

● Assist with paid and free marketing strategies both print and digital

Requirements:

The ideal intern has good computer and research skills and is organized, personable, selfmotivated, and able to multi-task. This position requires effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing and must be a self-starter. This position requires discretion and professionalism in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Skills in web and social media are a plus. A strong interest in entering a position in the non-profit sector–the arts, theater, museums–is vital.

Must be available a minimum of 2 days a week.
