Interns receive complimentary tickets to Kennedy Center performances during the Internship (subject to availability), and/or academic credit for their college or university upon request. (Please note, the Kennedy Center is not an accredited institution; therefore college credit must be granted by the Intern&#8217;s current college or university.) </span></div>

<p><strong>Duties include, but are not limited to:  </strong>Fully utilize <em>The Raiser’s Edge</em> database system, to accurately enter and maintain data including financial, contact, pledge and gift payment information for individual, foundation and government prospects and donors.  Manage other critical transactional data; produce and mail membership acknowledgment letters; and coordinate production and inventory of collateral materials related to membership and event benefits; assist current and potential members to address questions about Wolf Trap membership.   Conduct research on foundations and government agencies to identify new prospects and stay current on requirements of existing donors. Generate content/copy for foundation and government grant applications, reports and other collateral materials and assist with assembling reporting materials and grant applications for local and national foundations, corporate foundations, and government funders; produce grant acknowledgement letters; coordinate stewardship activities for all current foundation funders, including donor recognition, ticketing, invitations to events and site visits.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:  </strong>Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years related experience; excellent telephone and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail and writing and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize; sensitivity to confidential information; proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge with The Raiser’s Edge preferred; sensitivity and commitment to the mission of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts.</p>

<p><strong>Internship Description</strong><br />
Hylton Performing Arts Center is seeking a Development Intern to join our extraordinary team and assist in the organization’s development efforts.  The Development Associate is the onsite development representative for the Hylton Performing Arts Center who collaborates with the Development Department at the College of Visual and Performing Arts as well as the Office of University Development at Mason , to execute all fundraising efforts.<br />
<strong>Responsibilities </strong><br />
Working under the direct supervision of the Development Associate, the Development Intern will provide both administrative and non-administrative support for fundraising activities including member newsletter and correspondence production, membership table support, volunteer coordination, prospect research, member database management, special event coordination, preparing presentation materials, etc.<br />
<strong><br />
Qualifications</strong><br />
The right match for this position will be a highly motivated individual with strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to handle several projects simultaneously. A professional phone manner and good interpersonal skills are also important. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Word and Excel, and have strong web-based research skills. Previous customer service experience required.</p>
<p><strong>Schedule </strong><br />
One to two days per week with flexible scheduling accommodations made whenever possible.  All interns must complete the required hours as outlined in the Master of Arts Management intern learning contract within a three month time frame.  Exact days will be negotiated according to the intern’s schedule.   Any exceptions must be approved by both Intern Coordinator and the Hylton Performing Arts Center Development Associate.</p>

<p><strong>Position Description:</strong>  <em>To </em><em>develop a database of traditional and classical  artists, architects, and critics whose names, images, publications and contact information will be provided to those in the private and public sectors who wish to retain a traditional/classical artist or architect, or to seek advice and counsel from such a person, or to appoint a qualified person to a position of responsibility.  It has been the experience of NCAS that we receive requests for information about good classical or traditional architects and artists.  These requests have come from various private sector persons or corporations and from state and federal agencies who may appoint such persons to boards or commissions, who may turn to them for designing buildings or other public constructions, or who may need their advice on projects.  </em></p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:  </strong><em>W</em><em>orking knowledge of art history; familiarity with artistic forms; competency in word processing; a wiz at organization. </em></p>
