Graduate Arts Management Society (GAMS)

GAMS (Graduate Arts Management Society) is the student organization for the Arts Management program that facilitates professional development opportunities, networking, program forums, behind-the-scenes visits to arts organizations, and trips to regional and national arts events.

In addition to hosting almost monthly events, GAMS organizes a mentorship program to pair incoming students with returning students. This is not a tutoring service, but a way to make a new friend in the program. Mentors can be helpful in talking about things like class scheduling, resources available to people in the program, time management, ideas for things to do around DC, etc.

GAMS was created to provide a voice to all involved in the program, to enhance students’ educational experience by providing experiences beyond the classroom, and to encourage investment in the arts. Our objective is to provide resources to its membership to realize its goals and for arts management to become a legitimate member of the Mason community.

Current students who are interested in learning more about GAMS should join our Facebook group at GAMS (Graduate Arts Management Society). GAMS also hosts a jobs and internship discussion group on Facebook where students and alumni share opportunities.
