The Thirteen, Operations Manager (Part Time)

Position Summary: The Thirteen, a young, all-star professional choir, seeks an organized, self-starter to serve as Operations Manager. This is a new, part-time position of approximately 10-15 hours per week. The individual will efficiently manage the day-day running of the organization. The Thirteen’s 4-5 concert season generally goes from late September to April with summer months available for long-range planning and projects. The Operations Manager reports to The Thirteen’s founder and Artistic Director with the additional support of a hands-on board of directors, Director of Artist Management (External Bookings), and graphic designer. This position is an excellent growth opportunity for an individual interested in arts administration and the success of a critically acclaimed choir.

Operations Manager Responsibilities:

 Serves as initial point of contact with the public, manage flow of communications with staff and board

 Executes contracts with musicians, self-presented concert venues

 Liaison and production manager for self-presented concerts including: Insurance, contracts; Schedules, Artists’ contracts, travel and accommodations; Instrument and equipment rental.

 Collaborates with other staff regarding production needs for touring appearances

 Coordinates volunteers, vendors and service providers as needed

 Implements efficient box office procedures, advance, on-line and on- site ticket sales

 Assists with content and distribution of concert programs, marketing materials, email marketing campaigns, web site and social media content and expansion

 Working with the treasurer, enters financial data, prepares and tracks budgets, generates reports

 Manage data bases of ticket sales and donations

 Provides support to the board of directors, fundraising and other task forces.

Position Requirements:

 Self-starter, goal oriented

 Attention to detail, ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines

 Availability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends

 Experience and skill with the Microsoft Office Suite, Mailchimp, Tix, Wix.

 Music and/or arts management background

 Perform most work from home

 Ability to travel, if needed, with The Thirteen’s concert tours

 Residence in the Washington Metropolitan, DC area

Compensation:

$12,000 per annum, with potential to grow as the organization grows.

4 weeks leave per annum, most of which is expected to be taken in the summer.
