Kid Pan Alley, Booking Manager & Teaching Artist

Kid Pan Alley is a non-profit based in Little Washington, VA that provides songwriting artist in residency programs to schools throughout the county. To date, we have written 2,700 songs with over 50,000 children. Some of the songs have been recorded by artists including Amy Grant, Sissy Spacek, Delbert McClinton, Cracker, Kix Brooks, Nashville Chamber Orchestra, many others. Our mission is to inspire and empower children to work together to become creators of their own music and to rekindle creativity as a core value in education.

We are looking for a qualified candidate who can serve as booking manager and also work as a teaching artist with founder, Paul Reisler. The booking part requires negotiating contracts, booking residency, and assembly programs. As a teaching artist, they will accompany us on selected residencies to serve as a songwriting assistant.

Proximity to Northern Virginia is optimal, but we will consider someone who can work from another location. Some travel is required.

Qualifications:

· Organized, motivate with good communication skills

· Self-starter

· Good computer skills

· Some experience working with children

· Strong singing voice, performance, and musical skills are essential

· Ability to accompany songs on piano or guitar is helpful

· Flexible schedule allows opportunity to do some of your own performing

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience with additional commission for booking. This is an opportunity to learn songwriting, composing, and recording from a master songwriter, performer, and teaching artist with over 40-years of experience in the field. Opportunity for advancement.
