Biography

Jennifer Rosenfeld is an adjunct faculty member serving as Arts Management internship coordinator. She has worked extensively at the intersection of public history, art, education, and the digital world as a museum educator, program director, and consultant. Most recently, Jennifer served as Associate Director of Educational Projects at Mason’s Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media where she managed digital history education projects and outreach.

Previously, she served as Deputy Executive Director of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission where she oversaw the creation of national education programming to honor the bicentennial of the 16th president’s birth.  Due to her work, the governor of Kentucky named her an honorary Kentucky Colonel.

A museum educator by training, Jennifer has also worked as Education Director for the Old York Historical Society and the Long Island Museum, where she managed and created school, youth, and family programs, along with public tours.  Her museum career started as a guide at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello where (to the best of her knowledge) she still holds the record for number of tours given in one day (nine!).

As a consultant, Jennifer has advised on museum education issues, researched and developed digital history education materials, and served as a grant reviewer for the National Endowment for the Humanities.  Jennifer holds a B.A. in history from the College of William and Mary and an M.A. in history museum studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program at SUNY-Oneonta.
