Jazz4Justice Seeks Summer and Fall 2022 Interns

 

Jazz4Justice offers a part-time, experience-rich internship for Summer and Fall 2022.

Jazz4Justice is an award-winning non-profit which partners local Bar Associations with college Jazz/Music Programs to raise funds for music scholarships and to support local Legal Aid programs.

Background
Jazz4Justice raises public awareness and funds for Legal Aid and music scholarships. We do this by forming collaborative partnerships with the legal community, the business community, the music community, and Universities. Since 2001, more than 50 annual J4J Concerts have been organized throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia raising over $500,000 for pro bono legal services and jazz scholarships. http://www.jazz4justice.com

Internship Overview
The Jazz4Justice Intern will be responsible for helping to build the foundation for the continued success of the current J4J programs, as well as for the expansion of the current model. Internship duties can be tailored toward the desired experience.

· Up to 10 hours/week

· Eligible for credit hours, pending approval of the University

· Flexible Schedule

· Mostly remote with event attendance recommended if local

· Gain skills in grant writing, marketing, concert production, and/or fundraising

Responsibilities

· Attend and support Jazz4Justice concerts, including potential online virtual fundraisers

· Attend conference calls as needed

· Follow up on any additional duties as time allows

· Assist with marketing and/or social media plan

· Assist with publicity, social media, and promotions for each Jazz4Justice event

Qualifications
We seek a student interested in growing their skills in non-profit administration. Must be self-directed, able to work independently, detail oriented, and have superb communication skills (oral and written). Must appear and act in a professional manner at all times.

· Solid experience with MS Office

· Excellent writing skills

· Preferred: experience with Google Docs or online collaboration tools

College credit is available pending approval of the University. This internship is unpaid.
